This ten-episode series will cover ten select pieces out of fifteen years of Thomas Leebs work.  Each lesson is taught by the man himself and features close-up views of left and right hand, slow re-plays, as well as bar-by-bar instruction. For optimum results, we suggest a side-by-side approach with the tablature. A free preview is available for each video (select the track from the list below)  and the full videos can be purchased for immediate download as they are released. No Alibis

Thomas’ seventh solo acoustic guitar album contains fifteen tracks which range from the usual self-penned compositions to takes on traditional music, Bach, Heap and Clapton. “There are many fantastic technical guitarists around these days but none with Leeb’s grasp of melody and composition. It is for this reason that he is one of, if not my favourite guitarist in the world.” –Newton Faulkner “Thomas Leeb harnesses his trademark raw energy and innovative percussive technique with finesse and restraint. The result is a fresh collection of solo guitar music with an introspective spirit and deep grooves.” –Alex de Grassi The $17.00 price for the physical album includes shipping.

Desert Pirate

Desert Pirate was voted one of the essential guitar albums of the last twenty years by Acoustic Guitar magazine. “I would not want to be Thomas Leeb’s guitar, but I like having ears to hear what he does with it. On his latest amalgam of pops, slaps, bends, thwacks, plucks, and strums, Leeb once again pushes our aural boundaries with hard-driving melodies using — literally — the entire guitar. “Desert Pirate” is a firestorm of sound, from the opening “Grooveyard” (where surely even the most decayed are moving), to the gentler tribute piece “Ladzepko” (for his musical inspiration). Leeb’s ability to create accessible melody reminds me of Billy McLaughlin’s best work: you have a hard time imagining how he can be doing so much yet still create true songs. The title track, “Desert Pirate,” begins sounding like a mouse is trying to get into his soundhole; it then builds into a percussive crescendo before the traditional sound of a guitar appears, sounding not too traditional, but reminding us of the varied palette of sounds six steel strings can deliver. “Jebuda” mixes some well-placed...

Upside Down

“Recorded in two days, Austrian born Leeb’s Upside Down is an exciting collection of skilfully played instrumentals very much in the vein of the much-missed Eric Roche. Leeb cites Roche as a major influence and it’s not difficult to see why. Every last fiibre of his guitar is wrung dry to produce either rhythm bass, chords or melody and very inspiring it is too. In conversation with Leeb he commented that he recorded this album standing up (rather than the usual seated position), and in doing so, ran the risk of a patchy recording. I asked him “Why take the risk?” He replied, “Because it was more important to me to capture the joy and spirit of a live performance than concentrating on not moving from the microphone.” This he has done admirably. Upside Down is indeed an album full of joy and spirit.” -Acoustic Magazine UK The $17.00 price for the physical album includes...

Riddle

Online review: “This is unlike anything I have ever heard. I was stunned. The range of sounds he can make with one guitar is just stunning. Search on youtube and you will find a couple of videos including “askaskero” and “riddle” from this album played live… you will not believe your eyes (especially if you have ever picked up a guitar). This is not an album that is about the technical nature (although the technical aspect is astounding), he writes good songs with soul and movement. He “rocks” with an acoustic guitar and blends in blues elements all the while. Listen to all of “Riddle” and just wonder that it is all played on one guitar with 2 hands… this is jaw dropping material from that stand point but the songs are also memorable. I am not a huge fan of straight up instrumental music but this is an exception everyone should make.” – -David Koblentz The $17.00 price for the physical album includes...
